Summary
This prospective observational pilot tests whether a dormant owned web property becomes measurably more useful after it receives a single audience, a single useful job, a measurable hypothesis, and a ninety-day decision gate. The protocol measures search discovery, useful actions, citations, commercial signals, and operating effort.
The study does not claim randomization, a matched control group, or causal identification. Its intended output is a descriptive field study or case series that can improve the next experiment. No participant identity is approved for publication by this protocol.
- Design
- Prospective observational pilot
- Target cohort
- Five to eight privately selected QNTx-owned properties
- Baseline
- Trailing 28 days before each intervention
- Observation
- 90 days after each intervention is technically live
- Identity policy
- Aggregate by default; no participant identity is approved by this protocol
Intervention
Each selected property receives the same operating constraints:
- one defined audience and one primary job;
- one written hypothesis with a dated disposition gate;
- one technically crawlable, useful public surface;
- one primary action that can be measured without inventing engagement proxies;
- a minimum technical baseline covering indexing, canonicalization, sitemap, crawler access, and measurement readiness.
The creative execution may differ because the properties serve different jobs. The common intervention is the constraint itself: stop treating a domain as an unbounded possibility and assign it one falsifiable role.
Outcomes
Primary outcomes
- Valid index coverage
- Non-brand search impressions and clicks
- Completion of the property’s declared useful action
Secondary outcomes
- Third-party citations
- Qualified leads
- Attributable revenue
- Operating effort
Primary outcomes are reported for every property that enters the intervention. A property that receives no traffic, completes no useful action, or is retired remains in the denominator. Secondary commercial outcomes are aggregated unless a separate named-case approval exists.
Analysis plan
Each property is compared with its own trailing twenty-eight-day baseline. The cohort report will present counts, medians, ranges, and the number of properties with complete measurement. Because property age, topic, execution, and competitive conditions differ, the initial report will not collapse the cohort into a universal “domain value” score.
If at least five comparable properties complete the observation window, the lab may publish an aggregate field study. If fewer complete it, the publication will be labeled a case series or lab note. The first pilot is not a benchmark regardless of whether the results are favorable.
Privacy and publication
Participant selection occurs in a private QNTx operating system. The public protocol contains no cohort names, registrar information, infrastructure records, task identifiers, or domain-level business performance. A named participant requires a separate, explicit approval covering the exact page and metrics to be disclosed.
Client-managed properties are excluded by default. They may not enter public research without written consent and a study-specific data boundary. Aggregate data will be screened for combinations that could make a participant identifiable.
Limitations declared in advance
- The cohort is owned and selected by the operator, not randomly sampled.
- Properties differ in age, topic, competition, and historical signals.
- The intervention combines strategic focus with technical and content changes.
- Search and citation systems may change during the observation window.
- Commercial outcomes can be sparse and attribution can be incomplete.
- The operator and tooling provider benefit if the method appears useful.
Ownership and conflict disclosure
QNTx Labs owns Authority Laboratory and the QNTx-owned properties used in the private pilot. Awesome.Digital may provide measurement or execution tooling and may benefit from qualified demand. These relationships are part of the study context, not footnotes to be hidden after the result.
